At Garden of Eden Orchards, you’ll find that picking your own blueberries is as much a pleasure as eating them. Garden of Eden Orchards actually had its beginnings in our hearts and minds in the early 70’s during our college days at Michigan State University. This was where Terry studied to earn his degree in pomology, the science of fruit trees. Many hours learning the trade by working for others, were under his belt before Garden of Eden Orchards had its real beginning in 1982. This was the year Terry and Donna Freed purchased land near Eden, MD. This modest farm was approximately 12 tillable acres, all planted in peaches and nectarines with tractor lights after dark. Today, August 15th is the end of our fruit season. The peaches started earlier this year and so they end a little earlier than usual.
